Youthstream and Finnish based Lahti Events are very pleased to announce that the FIM Motocross World Championship returns to Finland at KymiRing motor circuit in 2020.

Motocross has a great history in Finland with legendary World Champions. Last time MXGP visited Finland in 2014 providing a memorable event in Hyvinkää. The 2020 MXGP of Finland will be nothing less than outstanding event assuring both fans and riders the best of the MX spirit: friendship, courage, passion and respect for nature.

The brand new track which will host the 2020 MXGP of Finland will be built at KymiRing motor circuit, which is situated only 50 kilometers from Lahti and 140 kilometers from Helsinki. All the international MX fans travelling to Lahti will have the opportunity to enjoy an unforgettable experience with the most characteristic elements of Finland: motorsports, friendly people, safe environment and nature with lakes and forests.

Finnish GP is also a home race of Ice1Racing team. Antti Pyrhönen, former motocross racer himself, is one of the internationally known faces of Finnish motocross and he is currently the Team Manager of Ice1Racing team, now called Rockstar Energy Husqvarna Factory Racing owned by the F1 driver Kimi Räikkönen.

Official MotoGP tests for the first time in Finland in AugusT

Lahti Events will be managing the event production in KymiRing area

The official MotoGP tests will be organized this year for the first time in Finland. The tests will take place on 19-20 of August in Iitti at the new KymiRing circuit that is still under construction. The tests will be held on both days from 10am to 5pm.

All the six MotoGP teams will take part of the tests. Mika Kallio will join the KTM factory team. The MotoGP teams will concentrate on testing tires, the settings of the bikes and new parts of the bikes.

-There hasn´t been MotoGP races before in Finland. Tests will be an unique opportunity to see the racing bikes and riders at the spot, says the CEO of KymiRing Markku Pietilä.

The GP circuit will be finalised on time for the tests but instead of fixed paddock buildings there will be temporary buildings.

The side events and the event area beside the circuit as well as the marketing and selling of the event will be managed by Lahti Events Ltd together with KymiRing Ltd.

-We are able to take an advantage of our experienced stuff for selling and marketing the events. MotoGP tests will be an unique opportunity for us to build a versatile experience center around KymiRing, says the CEO of Lahti Events Emilia Mäki.

KymiRing Events Ltd has signed a contract with MotoGP promoter Dorna Sports of organizing the MotoGP races. The contract includes years 2020-2024. Dorna Sports will announce the exact date of Finnish GP 2020 at later stage in the autumn time.
